As an organization that runs 24/7 with only three full-time and three part-time staff members we are incredibly grateful to our team of dedicated and reliable volunteers. ECHO House is a 40-bed residence which means there are always areas where we need help, sometimes desperately. Every year we log thousands of volunteer service hours within and outside of our main shelter. Our volunteers range from high school students to retiree’s and everyone in between. If you have a little time, a big heart, and a desire to be of service, we almost certainly have something going on that you’ll enjoy doing.
Shelter Monitor/Office Assistant
ECHO relies heavily on volunteers to keep the shelter running smoothly every day (and night) of the year. With only one ECHO staff member regularly on site, volunteers are needed to answer doors and phones, assist residents and perform daily tasks around the shelter and in the office. The hours you give can be based around your schedule and there's no experience necessary. Please call or email Lori for more information. 410-535-0044 ext. 3 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Our thrift shop is fully staffed by volunteers six days a week, Monday - Saturday. Our volunteers stay busy and there's always something fun going on in the shop. If you can spare a few hours a month we’d love for you to spend that time with us. No experience necessary, you simply need to be able to fulfill a monthly, twice-monthly, or weekly commitment. Please stop by, call, or email for more information: 443-975-7376 or ECHOthrift@comcast.net.
Individual community members, families, civic and ministry groups prepare or purchase meals for our residents nearly every day of the month. It’s a blessing for our homeless to know that they won’t have to go hungry. Our monthly meal provider calendar is as full as ever but we still have occasional slots that need to be filled. If you’re interested in providing a lunch, dinner, pantry items or even occasional party leftovers please contact us at: 410-535-0044 or email@example.com.
Want to join our Empty Bowl Supper Crew? How about the Turkey Trot Team? Maybe you've heard of the Point in Time Count or the Community Resource Fair and you'd like to help. Maybe you’re interested in planning committees, event set-ups or just looking for a meaningful way to get involved within your community. Email Teressa for more information:
