Volunteer

As an organization that runs 24/7 with only three full-time and three part-time staff members, we are incredibly grateful for our teams of dedicated volunteers. ECHO House is a 40-bed residence which means there are always areas where we need help, sometimes desperately. Every year we log tens of thousands of volunteer service hours at the shelter, thrift shop, and fundraising events. Our volunteers range from high school students to retirees and everyone in between. If you have a little time, a big heart, and a desire to be of service, we certainly have something going on that you’ll enjoy doing.

Shelter Monitor/Office Assistant

ECHO relies heavily on volunteers to keep the shelter running smoothly every day (and night) of the year. With only one ECHO staff member regularly on site, volunteers are needed to answer doors and phones, assist residents, and perform daily tasks around the shelter and in the office. The hours you give can be based around your schedule and there's no experience necessary. Please call or email Lori for more information. 410-535-0044 ext. 3 or projectecho@comcast.net.

Project ECHO Thrift & Gift Shop

ECHO’s thrift shop is currently only open to the public three days a week, but volunteer opportunities are available everyday. There’s no experience necessary and schedules are flexible. Most volunteers started out as shoppers, so stop by, check us out, and feel free to introduce yourself. We can’t wait to meet you! For more information, email Teressa at ECHOthrift@comcast.net or come in for a tour during our weekly Open House every Thursday at 4pm.

Meal Providers

Individual community members, families, civic and ministry groups prepare or purchase meals for our residents nearly every day of the month. It’s a blessing for our homeless to know that they won’t have to go hungry. Our monthly meal provider calendar is as full as ever but we still have occasional slots that need to be filled. If you’re interested in providing a lunch, dinner, pantry items or even occasional party leftovers please contact us at: 410-535-0044 or projectecho@comcast.net.

Events

Have you heard of our new 2023 Race Series? Maybe you've heard of the annual Point in Time Count or the Community Resource Fair. If you're looking for a meaningful way to do more in your community, we'd love to be part of that! For fundraising event information, please email Teressa Mullen at ECHOdevelopment@comcast.net. For homeless and community outreach event information, please email Lori Heron at ProjectECHO@comcast.net. To sign up for our next event click the button below.
